Skating Calculations is an interactive website for the skater, coach and/or parent that is interested in learning more about the International Judging System (IJS). AS a visitor to the website you will be able to look up the value of 20 jump elements per month. This includes all elements available to you in a well balanced Short or Free Program. What you cannot do is learn how to change the value of any listed element by playing with the system. Making an error to the element may change the base value by causing a negative Grade of Execution (GEO).
Adversely, being awarded a positive GEO increases the base value. Only subscribers are able to build on the base value.
Subscribers can be a skater that wishes to build a version of their program online. By doing this they can learn to rules of IJS and how to manipulate the program in order to grow their technical score. Parents can observe their skaters program but cannot build their own versions or learn more without a subscription of their own. Coaches can use this program to monitor the progress of all their skaters as they work through a season and develop new skills.
